The LCD-301 hand probe densitometer is used to measure the diffuse optical density D (blackening) in X-ray films.

The device has a very wide measuring range from 0.0 to 5.0, which is sufficient for practically all blackening measurements in technical radiographic testing. The pen-shaped hand probe with the dimensions of a slim biros is connected to the basic device by a 1.30 m long, highly flexible cable.

Description

For battery and mains operation, equipped with a large, easy-to-read LCD display. The device is ideal for both stationary and mobile use. In stationary use with mains adapter, the large LCD display is permanently backlit. If not required, the backlighting can be switched off by briefly pressing the on-off keypad.

In battery-operated mobile use, its low weight and small housing dimensions prove to be particularly convenient. In this operating mode, the backlighting of the display is not automatically switched on to save battery capacity. However, it can be switched on by briefly pressing the on-off keypad. After 8 minutes of switching on, the device switches off automatically.

A sufficiently bright film viewer with a luminance (approx. 30,000 to 100,000 cd/m2), as required by EN 25 580 for the evaluation of the film to be measured, should be used for the measurement.
